Hack in the Class is always looking for additional volunteers who want to help with the execution of her mission. As a volunteer you travel to schools to give or supervise our workshops. You can also help with the development of new teaching materials, or provide informational sessions at schools.
The safety of children is paramount, therefore all workshops are taught by a minimum of two of our volunteers. Additionally we request a certificate of Good Behaviour for all our volunteers.
Being a volunteer can mean one of the following things
- Giving and / or supervising workshops at schools.
- Developing teaching materials.
- Testing of teaching materials.
- Programming to our hack environment (for example creating new hacking levels).
- Brainstorm about new ideas and developments.
- Otherwise, you may have other knowledge or skills that fit well with what we do. Feel free to send an email. We would like to meet you!
What resources are required for volunteers?
- Enthusiasm, this is the most important thing.
- We do not expect a specific level of knowledge to be able to give the workshops. All the knowledge that is needed can be learned by supervising and giving the workshops. Affinity with technology is an advantage.
- Declaration of Good Behavior (VOG), this will be requested by us at the moment that you sign up.
- Possibility to travel by public transport, car or TARDIS.
